Melanie Manuel is a newcomer to Milwaukee,
a place she is now proud to call home after living in Florida, Germany, China, Virginia, Alabama, and Kansas. She has been plant-conscious for over twenty years and learned to love veggies through her time in her grandmother's garden, and through experiencing flavors around the world- from Flatbraud in Denmark to wood ear mushrooms in China.

With a certification in plant-based nutrition from Cornell University, she strives to offer healthy, affordable, whole-food alternatives for folks who love bold flavors. When she isn't making a mess in the kitchen, Melanie loves to read, travel, hike with her dog, write, and of course, hang out with her bunny.

As a child growing up in England, Melanie's mom read her stories from Beatrix Potter books, the children's author, naturalist, and illustrator.

These books, which were influenced by fairy tales and folk stories, made the natural world come alive, especially in the form of the main character, Peter Rabbit.

Recently, Melanie adopted a bunny from a farm in Viroqua, Wisconsin.
